Thermography is the use of a digital infrared camera that is able to detect developing cancer. In their ever-growing need for nutrients cancerous tumors increase circulation to their cells by increasing number of blood vessels. This process frequently results in increased surface temperature in the problematic areas. Thermography detects these suspiciously hot areas in patient’s body. Digital infrared imaging scans show the function, the physiology, the metabolism of the tissue.
The whole process involves taking images, sending them to a trained medical professionals for interpretation, and a full report is forwarded to the patient and her healthcare provider. All images are kept on file.
Thermography procedures are available for breast, upper body, lower body or full body.
